Grant Goodman was a Japanese translator for the U.S. Army during WWII. He later became a history professor at KU and made indispensable contributions to the global field of East Asian study. This collection contains his correspondence, research materials, clippings, class notes, and papers.

Overview This mimeograph copy is comprised of reports and dispatches from correspondents to Time-Life-Fortune News Bureau chief David Hulbard in New York during the first thirty hours following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The reports total 222 pages. In instances where relative military strengths, the extent of damage to Pearl Harbor, or military and naval strategy were reported, such information was deleted.
